Arseny Blinov received his Master of Arts degree from St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry of Stieglitz in Russia. During his university years he was engaged in painting and fine arts, and participated in exhibitions. He soon began his career as a graphic designer and art director. He took part and won a number of prizes in International completions and festivals in Russia and Europe. In 2010 he reverted back to focusing on fine arts, particularly in painting, graphics and photography. Recently, he held a personal art exhibition called Blossoming of Maidens in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. It was a great success, and portions of his works were sold to private collections in Russia, England and Germany.
Style and Inspiration:
In paintings, as well as in designs, Arseny likes experimentation and eclecticism. He works in an expressive manner, using a pallet knife, aerosol spray, in addition to a brush. Sometimes he paints with his fingers, or simply splatters paint on the surface from cans or tubes. Often he leaves parts of the canvas untouched, or with traces of under-paint and drawings, as well as drops of paint. He also likes to combine acrylic painting with chalk, sanguine and alike materials. His graphic design education and work experience has a big impact on his style. In his experiments, he also uses the latest digital technologies. Besides abstract art he often turns his creative eye to the human body. His compositions are full of expressive dynamics and are very detailed and multi-layered, though he consciously strives for lightness and unfinished touch similar to a sketch.
