I was a Commercial Design major but worked as a translator in Localization field for many years. I first moved to a small town with population of 7,000 in the East coast from the capital city in Taiwan, Taipei, where 2 million people dwelt at the time. Huge culture shock!! I only began my artistic journey earlier this year when I finally seem to grasp a sense of true existence in this in-between, cross-culture space. I wouldn't be here without the support from my FB families and friends. They are the reason I have come to realize that this is something I should be doing! And I found myself enjoy doing!! Art is my expression, my escape, and has become part of my life!! I have been fond of expressing my feelings and thoughts in words for many years. But it’s not until my older daughter who has different learning style introduced me to a whole new world that I started to open up my senses and see it through a fresh set of eyes. I began to appreciate the beauty of everything, especially in nature, small and big, and use Art as an expression based on my scientific understanding. That’s how I started my art on things that we don't see, things that we don't notice anymore. And on an unexpected occasion, it leaded me to household wastes, such as eggshell, pistachio shell, and finally yarn, one of my favorite mediums. I have come to realize that when you see the world through your heart, you see beauty everywhere. I hope I will continue to find inspirations from our mother nature, and express it through different materials and share the beauty!
