Joseph Stephen L. Apsay

Joseph Apsay, a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and a Bachelor of Law, has never had any formal art training. He is currently juggling his art profession with another job in a company in Makati City.

For Joseph, paintings are not just colors and lines but pieces of the artist’s souls.

He first showed his work in public in 1999, when an untitled work he'd done in oil, then a new medium for him, was chosen among many to be featured in an exhibit.

He uses different mediums for his works and gets inspiration from everyday life. Most of his works are of human interest, which captures Man’s emotion and translate them into colors like a free verse poem.

He is curious about the ideas swirling in the minds of the viewers when they look at his paintings. And the journey between the viewer and the artist begins with a simple inquiry: "What do you see?"
