Keith Teo

Singapore

Keith has recently completed his Diploma in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. He works primarily with oil paintings. A lot of his works are based on images he finds on magazines, popular culture and other media. The artist has a particular interest with icons and uses them to explore different themes; by appropriating found imagery and juxtaposing them together. The themes he engages on are mainly societal, popular culture, which aims to reflect on the broader notion of the human condition. Recently elements in his paintings start to draw from personal experiences. "The artist as social commentator may simply make us more aware of the human condition as he/she perceives it, without suggesting particular action."
