Rebecca Nie

United States of America

Rebecca “Rebex” Nie’s art explores the spiritual and natural world. It creates visual dialogs of dynamism between realism and abstraction and explores the self and universe. Ms. Nie’s inspiration comes from her lifelong study of Zen Buddhism, mathematics and science. She is a Zen Master in a lineage which can be traced 80 generations back to the Buddha and holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics from Stanford University. Ms. Nie has been blessed to teach physics and Zen in the U.S., and math and meditation in Bhutan, where she was deeply moved by the spiritual and artistic heritage of the Himalayas. Growing up in China and Canada, Ms. Nie currently resides in Northern California and her works have been collected by patrons in the U.S., Canada, China, and Japan. Ms. Nie strives for her art to enable viewers to tap into the natural beauty and the universal serenity and connectedness in every one of us. Her work can be viewed at RebexArt.com, after the nickname given by dear friends.
